Is there anything more fascinating than the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly? For me, it’s very much like taking a passion or an idea and turning it into a brand. It takes strength, willingness to accept change, vulnerability, and patience. When I first started BabySoSoft as a passion project, I realized that having a brand name that I was deeply connected to was just the first step. I also needed a logo that visually represented what that brand stands for.
Butterflies have always held a special place in my heart. There’s a quiet tranquility in their flutter and they exude a peacefulness that reminds me of a sleeping baby. Their softness mirrors the Minky fabrics I use to create my newborn baby gift products, and their gentleness reflects the delicate touch of each creation against a baby’s skin. It was clear that a butterfly would be central to the BabySoSoft brand… and that the logo would evolve and grow with me, as butterflies do.
In exploring how I could make this logo reflective of the love and care I bring to my work, I decided that there needed to be an intersection of that love with the beauty of a butterfly. But how can I combine the two? It occurred to me that, if I placed two hearts on their sides, touching, the shapes could form the wings of a butterfly. It was perfect in its symbolism and its simplicity.
As the BabySoSoft brand continues its transformation, the butterfly has remained a central motif, but it has also evolved. Our current logo speaks to me in so many ways. I love how the butterfly wings are beautifully made up of two interlocking hearts. The design represents my love for my work and my passion for creating something unique for every newborn baby. It also honors that beautiful butterfly that has become the embodiment of BabySoSoft’s continued evolution.
The way I see it, BabySoSoft is not just a business journey for me; it's a story of love, dedication and an inspiration drawn from my passions. Every time I see a butterfly, I’m reminded of the power of transformation, and I’m grateful for the change and growth that continues to propel this brand I love so dearly forward.
